{/analysing my friends' FOOD BLOGS. --
Thursday, February 24, 2011 ( 8:21 AM )
here is my post analysing three of my friend's foodblogs, whose links can be found in the next tab in this webby. (:
1. JINGEN'S FOODBLOG
(a dish called love)
-The blog has very detailed information on her food intake over the three days and she has a personal reflection upon the analysis by the HPB website's tools. She incorporates the use of a different food tool to analyse her diet for each day and includes one reflection after each one, that's very amazing and truly shows she knows how to apply whatever she has absorbed from the food analysis.
2. MELISSA'S FOODBLOG
(think twice before you eat)
- This blog, once again is very pretty in design but that's beside the point, she used a range of tools to analyse her diets for the different days and really fully utilisaed the HPB website's tools. She also includes photos to fully express her feelings about the certain post or whatever she has brought across in that particular post.
3. SARAH'S FOODBLOG
(untitled)
- The blog was very well organised in terms of presentation to the viewer but the posts were not too informative and she didn't use a wide range of HPB tools. The elaboration in her reflection, however, is very commendable and admirable. It is also very good that she included pictures to be able to express herself better and show the reader more clearly.

here marks the end of my aesthetics F&NPT (:
i had a lot of fun doing this because i was amazed by the wondrous tools in the Health Promotion Board's website. it really enlightened me and taught me so much about my eating habits. (: and it also now i know where to go and what tools to use if i want to track my diet or analyse my diet in future.
firstly, one undeniably useful thing that was a splendid take away from this PT was that i realised my eating habits was not as healthy as i thought it to be and realised which areas (calcium and sodium) i was short of or excessively intaking in. ^^
also, it was very useful to me as i realised, through the analysis what i should do, why i should do it, and how important it is to have a balanced diet. :3 the tools were extremely useful and they really gave a thorough analysis for me to truly comprehend more.
before completing this PT, i never saw putting whatever into my mouth as something that required a lot of thinking or any tough decision-making at all. but now, i think twice before i decide to put something into my mouth.
it took me pretty long to choose my "healthier dish" and to me, that was not just a decision made purely to complete this PT but also something that i will follow, a dish that i will eat every once in a while because i know it's good for me. i had to compare the nutritional values of the dish compared to others to be able to decide. and upon it all, i chose it not just because it was nutritionally healthy- sufficient energy, little fats, high calcium, serving us a balanced diet, but also because it is appealing and for a person who always eats junk like me, that was a start.
{/here's what you should try! (: --
( 6:45 PM )
and after all this, WHAT EXACTLY IS A HEALTHY MEAL? :D
i always had this impression that a healthy meal was one with a lot of vegetables
and zero meat and well, usually NOT tasty at all T.T but here's a recommendation from
moi. (: and may you try it sometime:
SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
SPAGHETTI BOLOGNESE
it's yummy and nice and healthy at the same time!
here's an analysis through the "energy and nutrient composition" tool of the food i've chosen:
The analysis (per serving) follows: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

and lastly, the energy and nutrient compositions of food, tool. (:
i just used one that i've eaten pretty much over the three days- BREAD. :D
here's the analysis of the energy and nutrient composition of bread per serving. (:

{/analysis by RECIPE ANALYSIS tool. --
( 8:08 AM )
i've chosen one dish from each day to use this tool on. (:
firstly for 6th February, i chose, POPIAH:

and then for 7th February, i chose, RICE WITH SAUSAGE:
Recipe Analysis |

lastly for 8th February, i chose, INSTANT NOODLES:

Personal Reflection:
i think these main dishes are all pretty high in sodium and these dishes i ate as main dishes should've been the affecting factors that caused my high amount of sodium intake as shown in my food intake assessment analysis. D: i can also see from these few tables the different amounts of the different food components i'm taking in and compare which i should eat if i want more of any of the compenents and which i should eat less of if i want less of certain food components. (like cholestrol.)
{/analysis by FOOD INTAKE ASSESSMENT tool. --
( 7:59 AM )
well, i'll start by posting a series of three tables of the food that i've eaten and the meals i'vetaken over three days (6-8 February 2011). :b i reason why i chose these three days are random. :) ...just so you know.
enjoy reviewing my diet over these three days. (: and later, i'd share with you my full understanding of me and my diet that i've gotten thanks to the "Food Intake Assessment"health tool found in the Health Promotion Board (HPB) website. (: do it for yourself here!:
